What I Am Wearing Today

I'm super sticky & sweaty all the time, it's constantly like 28 to 30degrees so I'm just trying to wear super airy clothes. Not complaining though, don't get me wrong - it's a nice change after the long and cold swedish winter and spring. ...And these little neon pants even made me show some leg.

Zooooooooo

The next awesome thing (after taking me out for Sushi) Florian did with me during my time in Bern was going to the zoo! I lovelovelove zoos! Never liked them as a kid, thought they were super booring, but now I really enjoy them.

We went to the Tiergarten in Bern and it was super amazing. They didn't have the most exotic animals ever and it was a kinda small zoo but they had a super beautiful one and super beautiful and big corrals for the animals. And: I have never seen a zoo where you can get this close to the animals! Like the bears were just parted from you through a glass panel! I had the paw of a bear against my paw, just parted by three centimeters of glass! ...As I said, it was amazing (just check out the first picture :)!.

I've Got A New Boyfriend...

...haha, I got you there! No, kidding, but Sushi is sooo good I COULD fall in love with it.

For my first night in Bern Florian took me out to this super amazing Sushi place. And don't laugh but: I have never been to a Sushi place before. I know, thats sooo uncool. Well, guess now I'm an official member of the cool-kids-club. Whatever. We were sitting at the bar and watching the chef prepare stuff while eating. It was cool. Florian and me ate our way through the menu-card and I got to try as delicious stuff as eel, scampi, mussel and many other delicious raw fishyfishy's.

I'm sooo having the munchies for wasabi right now. Wasabi on top of a salmon-sushi-roll.

What I Am Wearing Today

Found these purple button-up harem pants last week at a new vintage store that has opend close to my parents place. I really wasn't sure if they are "too much" and costumey or "just perfect" until I wore them for the first time. They are super perfect.

Big Drama In Little St.Gallen

Last friday I was invited to the annual opera on the cloistered courtyard (Klosterhof) in St.Gallen. The first time I was there was last year, when they showed Verdis "Giovanna d'Arco" - so I knew about what I could expect, but it is just always supersuper impressive to see the stage built up just in front of the big cathedral, hear the orchestra playing loud where normally little kids are playing on the green grass.

So this year they played "Samson et Dalila" - and although I thought the ending was a little weak it was a very impressive play. Strong story, good acting, beautiful costumes. And: Best seats, oh yeah ;).

Gonna show you later on what I was wearing to the opera.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: The Best Pickup Service Ever

After some exhausting three days at the Openair St.Gallen I took the train back to my parents place on sunday night. My dad provided the best pickup service ever! It was super much fun, the two of us, laughing and screaming while going super fast through the nightly Altstätten.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: Das Team

Taking a picture of Florian & me at the Openair St.Gallen has a long tradition and is a must.

...Don't tell him, but I'm super proud of my booking partner in crime that he has truly done what he wanted, scored the job he wanted and is now 'working' backstage at the big festivals/concerts.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: Standing On The Main Stage

...of course not for playing music myself, just for watching the pros doing it. I have to say, standing on the side of the main stage, seeing Mando Diao play their anchor (which was the very last song for this years Openair St.Gallen) while about 30'000 people in front of the stage are going crazy was pretty much the best Openair ending I've ever had.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: Schnitzelbrot

The Schnitzelbrot & I have a long history: Every year I eat one at the Openair St.Gallen. Every year it's from the same food-stand, every year with the same dressing - every year I take I picture of the first bite. Openair St.Gallen without a Schnitzelbrot: Unthinkable.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: Seeing Bands From The First Row

Doesn't matter what kind of pass you have or if you are a 'normal' visitor: Nothing beats seeing your favorite band from the front row. First I was planing to see Nick Cave from the tribune ... you know, not getting dirty and stuff. But after like the third song or it was clear that I had to get closer. And seeing Nick Cave from (almost) the front row really was something else. He didn't play an anchor, but "Stagger Lee" was his last song and Warren Ellis played it until there were no strings left on his violine. Breathtaking.

And then I of course saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs from the front row. Karen O shot confetti in the air that got stuck in my hair. Unbeatable.

Last but not least: Olli Schulz, front row. As always a heartwarming experience.

I ♥ Openair St.Gallen: Not Getting Dirrty Although It Is Raining

So it is over, the 33th Openair St.Gallen. 2009. It was hot, wet, muddy, awesome, loud, breathtaking, annoying. Since I was super much in a rush almost the whole three days and didn't even start up my laptop I'm now gonna post some highlights from last weekend.

1: Mud & the Openair St.Gallen go togheter like bees & honey. Or more like gin & tonic - because first it's fun, then you're dirty, smelling & freezing. This year the rain came Friday night and lasted until Saturday. Luckily enough lil' Sara was having her comfy backstage pass, which means I didn't leave the "safe-area" no more. The one time I tried to go and wander over the campground I got mud on my legs after ten minutes (iiiiiiiii) which made me run back to the safe-area. Yes, I'm pussy like that.

Mr. And Mrs. Mace's Lovedance

Just had to do a special post about this one: The lovedance of Mr. and Mrs. Mace featuring Kristofer on midsummers eve.

Appendum II: Midsommar Barbecue

For the longest day of the year we had a bigbigbig barbecue. Everyone was there, we had a lot of delicious food, flowers, a much-fun Bosse-game, traditional Swedish music played by X-Tina & B-Boy (thanks John) who brought their instruments up with them. I had flowers in my hair. We danced, drank, laughed, played, ate cake, talked, sang. It was absolutely great, thanks to everyone who was there.

Back In Switzerland

Spent last night and today at my parents place. Enyoing some calm-and-quiet cooking with my mum, talking with my dad & cuddling with my cat. Sixteen years, almost no teeth left and still trying to hunt for rats. Such a cool cat.

Tomorrow the whole Openair-St.Gallen-crazyness is gonna start. Have a big load of interviews confirmed, also some photos to take, a lot of friends to meet and last but not least some good music to enjoy. Nick Cave I'm coming.

Appendum I: Midsommar Football

Midsommar football was supersuper much fun. It ended with a sprained ankle, a bloody knee and the realisation that I actually not suck as much at it as I thought I would. Still quiet much, but not AS much. Scored three goals or so. ...So I know there is a buyers market out there, so anyone interested just contact my manager, I think we're not even talking on the telephone for offers less than a million, but hey that's pretty cheap for such a goal-getter.

No, seriously, I would totaly love to play a bit more I think. ...Gonna look into that. (Anyone having a team that isn't drop-dead-I'm-gonna-kill-you-if-you-miss-that-corner serious about it?)

Trying To Catch My Breath

I´m blogging live from Arlanda, Sthlms airport. Found internet and using it to check the one-million-and-two spam-emails that are trashing my inbox. The last few days were pure crayzness. I have to show you guys so many pictures. From midsommar and everything around and after that. Just this much: It was absolutely amazing and I hope that all guests that had travelled all the way up to Röbäck have arrived home safe again. They left one-by-one. First Olof earlyearly on Monday morning, then Kristina & Börje on Monday afternoon, then Bosse & Amber, then Florian. And now I have left. I´m glad though that I don´t have to be the very last one standing. That´s always the thoughest part.

So the next few days are filled to the max as well. Gonna arrive late tonight at my parents place, then travel to St.Gallen tomorrow for the Openair St.Gallen, självklart. Where it goes from there I don´t know. My head is too full with interview-preperations, time-table-checkings, flight-catching, the normal traveling-melancholy, equipment-organization and so on.

Gonna try to blog some pictures from the last few days as soon as I can hook up my Iphone to electricity. And also gonna try to stay blogging during the Openair. ...But you know how it goes.

Wish all of you a good weekend. And for those who I´m not gonna see at the Openair a veryvery super nice summer.

Love,
Sara

Wild Things

Saturday was masquerade! Super much fun, and great costumes. We had a shark, a bee, lots of zebras, monkeys, lions, dogs, a worm, a butterfly, a spider, a hunter, a cow and many more. Yes, the theme was "animal" and I dressed up as a ladybug. Stuffed pillows under my dress so my hips were like large wings, and mounted cardbord-wings that I covered with red fabric and black dots. Best part of the night sure was "Animal Twister", haha. Good one. We have to party like this again, it's just much fun when everyone sits behind the sewing machine for a few hours and then can make a fool out of himself ;).

Wait ... Is It Already June?

I kinda missed that. June - that means half of the year is already over? How did that happen, I don't know. Well, during the next few days it is gonna get busy here: First Florian is gonna arrive on Tuesday, then Bosse & Amber on Wednesday, then Kristina & Börje on Thursday and then Olof & Kerstin on Friday. And then it is midsommar. And then, well, then it is hoping on a plane for me myself, going back home and straight heading to the crazyness that is the Openair St.Gallen.

Oh and the staketet. I forgot about the staketet. Don't ask. I already dream about falun-röd.

So I'm gonna try posting as much as possible but if it is gonna get a little slow around here, then it's because I'm trying to pack my bags, cock dinner for I don't know how many persons, show Florian the town and fix the #@#*...ährm...lovely staketet at the same time ;).

Read you soon.
Love from the north,
Sara

My Insomnia

It's light now 24/7. Although it doesn't look like it on the photo. But it was taken with my cell-phone, so the contrasts are messed up - plus the photo was taken at 2am. And it was already a little sunschine again. If you waking up at three in the morning to go to the bathroom: Sunshine. If you going home from a club at three in the morning: Sunshine. If you wanna go to bed at 11 in the evening: Sunshine. Instant hangover and insomnia.

I would be lost withouth my sleeping-mask.

But the colours on the sky in the late evening and early morning are simply breath-taking.
