The Monster

I promised pictures, here is (a blurry) one. ..I mean, in the store it looked kinda cute, kinda just big enough, almost too small. Then it was quiet a problem to get it in the car. And then unpacked there just one thing to say: It is a MONSTER. OHMYGOD!

..Okay, I'm off to the monster now, "Mamas pojkar" is on. Don't judge.

The Dream Dress Project

After intense sketching and insperation seeking last week the construction process for the dress Im doing for my school project has finally started this week.

Yesterday I spent thinking out the pattern, today I cut it out, tried it out in fabric and made the last adjustments, then cut the pattern in the real fabric. Tomorrow is sewing time, hooray!

..Are you already guessing it? Strong, fitted shape, shoulder-focus, black.. yeah, I know, no surprises there.

Swiss People Freezing Their Feet In Sweden

Soooo, Im back. My parents were visiting me here the last week and we did like the whole tourist-package togheter and had a very full program. It was muchmuch fun and it wasnt easy bringing them to the airport again.

They (of course) also brought super much swiss food with them (aka a whole bag, 11 kilo). The highlights: Swiss "Nuss Stengeli" ("Totäbeili") aka super nice cookies, "St.Galler Biberli" aka a swiss baked special thing (that Im unable to describe any better), Appenzeller Fondue (of course), Raclette, and of course: Unbelievable much cheese (Appenzeller & Gruyère) aaand chocolate..

One Left, One Right, One Left, One ..

I guess it's just because of winter and the cold and everything but I have really been knitting much lately. Have also tried to step out of my comfort zone and try out a bit more difficult stuff than just straight & right. Super excited to show you my take on the (blog-)famous Rodarte knit-thights, but thats not gonna happen until next week or so.

So until then, here are my favorit patterns of the moment (click for bigger pictures).

My parents are coming today from Switzerland to visit me here in the north of Sweden. I havent seen them since July so Im quiet happy. That also means that it is most likely gonna get a little bit quiet here for the time theyre here which is a week. Gonna try to use the wonder that is scheduled-posting though ;).

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt VI

Friday night was presentation of some pieces of the Noir & Blanc SS10 collection plus just generell free wine again at the Design Bar. Really, can we do that again? I had a great time. Thanks also to Malin & Esbjörn for being such awesome company during the whole Fashion Wknd crazyness.

I know, the picture is blurry as hell but the only one I could snap before the battery died. Well..it would have been Steve Madden heels, black patent leggins by me, Lavin-for-cheap necklace from the flea market and my half-sheer-see-through half-jersey shirt with double shoulder pads by me aka DangerDanger.

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt V

Since I was sick and even stayed away from my laptop I still have some catching up to do. These here are pictures from saturday nights fashion/photo/video exhibition/installation at Schmäck.

Although we were waiting very unfashionable 30 minutes outside in the cold until the doors opened it was very much worth it. The atmosphere they created was extremely well thought through - all the smoke, lights, fabric drapings, music, video, photos, clothes and masks went togheter so well. Unfortunately it was hard to take pictures since it was so dark. On a sidenote: The nibbles they served were sooo delicious.

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt IV

Finally! Here are the pictures from the actual showcase. Taken by myself in super much of a rush and not with the steadiest of hands. Hope someone else took some pictures as well, so if I find better ones Im gonna post them.

So.. My little cube with my card, some infos and a copy of the article that was in the newspaper (Västerbottens Folksblad, thank you very much!) about my stuff thursday morning.

My space (please note the ugly floor). As soon as I arrived there Thursday morning I wished I had built like a black cube where people could go in or so. But that as well as the hugh raven-mask for myself (yes Esbjörn, I havent forgotten about it) will have to wait until next time.

The space of my super nice neighbours, Malin & Esbjörn.

Blurry blurry.

Posing to forget about being hungry and tired.

Louboutins On A Budget

(Quick break from all the Fashion Wknd catch-ups.)

Ever since I saw Tommy Ton showing off the new Louboutin Rollerball flats I was totally in love with them. But who is having $995 spare to just spend on some fancy pair of shoes that although super beautiful most likely are kinda very dated since I do think that like in a year we all gonna be sooo over the whole stud-mania? Well, I try to buy at ICA Strömpilen (yeahyeah, only the Swedes gonna get that) because its cheaper so don't look at me. ButButBut thanks to Etsy I accidently found a pair of studded loafers that remind me kinda much of the Louboutins - I admit, they are not exactly as fancy and also don't come with rollerball studs but with flat ones, but the price tags also doesnt say $995 but $85.

So what youre saying? Close enough to buy?

The ones from Etsy.

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt III

During the last weekend I also discovered a new Swedish brand called Odeur. ..Well, don't know how new they really are, maybe you all already know them, but I haven't and like very much what theyre doing. Draped jersey fabrics and traditional garnments with kinda basic cuts but new interpreted (check out their dressshirt). Just wish that their stuff would be a tiny bit more unisex so I could get some pieces and not just look like I bought something that was four sizes too big and pinned the leftover fabric to my shoulders.

Unfortunately they didnt have anything on display, it was more that I saw Gorjan Lauseger, one of the two faces behind Odeur, a couple of times during Fashion Wknd, just loved everything he wore, and after spotting him for the third time awkwardly just had to go over to ask him about the details of everything he had on. He wore a lovely 'hoodie' and a jacket of his own brand but best part was a very loose knitted black sweater - that turns out he had knitted himself togheter with his grandma.

..Can I raid your wardrobe?

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt II

Pictures of my showcase soon to come, first get an impression of how extremely tired I and I guess everyone else as well was after the first day. This was taken Thursday night after I spent almost twelve (!) hours straight in high-heels, running around crazy much building up my showcase, talking to press, friends, guests, eating nothing or just crap. Fell asleep two minutes after the picture was taken.

Since I looked like 80s metal I can just as well pose like 80s metal, right? Took all energy that was left though. How metal.

Fashion Wknd Catch-Up Pt I

I really tried to blog daily..buuut.. Photoshop gave up on me due to the problem of me being an idiot and having my first Mac. Yes, thats my excuse and it is a good one. Soo yeah, I'm back from workingworkingWORKING my ass off and partying my feet away. Both was a lot of fun.

This here was taken after the pre-opening party at Rex on Wednesday night. Which was much fun, free food and drinks, nice location.
